Maria M Diz
Mental Health Therapist, Artist, Writer & Story Keeper
I am an artist, a therapist, and a believer in the transformative power of creative truth. Born in Cuba and brought to the United States when I was three years old, I carry with me a tapestry of memory—woven from loss, resilience, beauty, and rebirth. Growing up between cultures gave me a unique reverence for difference, belonging, and the soft spaces in between. These themes echo through both my clinical work and artistic vision.
Grey House Gallery is the culmination of my life’s work—an emotional sanctuary where art and soul work intertwine. Here, I guide others not only to create, but to feel—to remember, reclaim, and reimagine their stories through expressive art and community connection. My background in mental health therapy is deeply informed by the layered experience of immigration, identity, and emotional inheritance. It’s also shaped by the Southern landscape I’ve come to call home—a region full of contradiction, culture, and deep, complicated grace.
In this work, I welcome all people. My heart has been formed by both displacement and discovery, by roots that stretch across oceans and stories that span generations. I honor difference. I cherish nuance. And I strive to create spaces where softness, truth, and transformation are not only welcome—they are necessary.
In short I am a dedicated creative spirit with a passion for transforming the human spirit through creative expression and personal growth.
I provide a safe and creative space for self expression, soul exploration, and connection. Through our art exhibits, music events and personal growth workshops, I help our community come together and grow towards a richer more self aware self and community.
The Mission at Grey House Gallery
Sharing Art
Art is a bridge between souls. Whether painted, spoken, sung, or written, it carries our truths across time, across silence, across difference. At Grey House Gallery, we believe in the deep, transformative power of sharing art—in all its forms—as a way of witnessing, healing, and uplifting one another.
Emotional Healing and Personal Growth
Our work blends clinical expertise with intuitive, trauma-informed practices that meet you where you are—with compassion, depth, and creativity. We support individuals navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, and identity questions. Through guided reflection, narrative re-authoring, and soulful creativity, clients are empowered to transform emotional pain into meaning and possibility.
Community Building
At Grey House Gallery, we believe that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in relationship—with self, with others, and with something greater. Grey House Gallery holds space for this kind of meaningful community: one that uplifts difference, honors vulnerability, and celebrates the power of creating—and becoming—together.
